Bhushan Pradhan: My mom sculpts the Ganpati idol, I try to paint it

Ganeshotsav is just around the corner and actor Bhushan Pradhan and his mother Seema spend their time preparing for the festival by creating their Ganpati idol together. It's an annual ritual that has also encouraged friends and fans of Bhushan to follow suit. We caught up with the actor to get a peek into their Ganesh-making activity.

Bhushan gave us a peek into their Ganesh-making activity and says, "Honestly, I am still learning to paint. It's been seven years since my mom started making Ganpati idols and I have helped her paint them. It's a work in progress for me but I've learned quite a few things about this art," shares Bhushan.

Inspiring fans and family
Looking at Bhushan and his mother's work, many of the actor's followers and friends have followed suit. "I get a lot of messages every year from saying they started creating their Ganpati Bappa idol at home after watching me and my mother do it. My mother even gets requests from people asking her to make an idol for them," says Bhushan, adding that the leftover clay from the idol after visarjan is used by them to make small clay toys.
