Bappa hai toh mujhe koi tension hi nahi: Shiv Thakare

Shiv Thakare is soaking in the festive spirit as he celebrates Ganeshotsav with full fervour at his Amravati residence. From indulging in delicious modaks to cherishing quality time with his family, he is making the most of his favourite festival.
For Shiv, it's not just about rituals, but also about passing on traditions. He shares, “Our country is home to so many different festivals that speak volumes about our diversity and rich heritage. It’s important to instill that sense of pride and connection in the younger generation, so they continue to carry these traditions forward."


'Bappa’s aagaman is special for all of us'
Speaking about the 10-day festivities at his home, he says, "We have been preparing since 2-3 months. Bappa's aagaman is special for all of us. Honestly, my main job is to bring Bappa home from Mumbai every year. It’s a huge responsibility. When it comes to decorations, it’s always a team effort from the family. As for the rituals and puja, that’s mostly taken care of by aaji, aai and baba." He adds, "As a child, I thought that the bigger the idol, the more he would listen to us. But as I grew up, I realised that big or small, Bappa always showers his blessings on everyone."


'My only wish now is to keep working every year'
Ask if Shiv has wished for something special this time, and he says, “My only wish now is to keep working every year, to stay happy, and to always be with my family. Bappa hai toh mujhe koi tension hi nahi. Of course, I have many other dreams. For example, if I sign a big movie, I would want a private cinema space at my home, just for my family. Insaan lalchi hota hai. Often, we make wishes but don’t work hard for them. So, I simply pray to Bappa to make me worthy of fulfilling those dreams.”

‘Always wanted to join a dhol pathak’
Like every year, Shiv welcomed Bappa amid the vibrant beats of dhol-tasha. "I love to watch these youngsters perform so beautifully. The vibe, their energy and synchronisation, everything is so special. I always wanted to be a part of a dhol-tasha pathak. So, whenever I get an opportunity, even for a few minutes, I make sure I play the dhol,” he shares.
