The 50th show of the Marathi version of epic play Chanakya was staged recently. Among many Marathi enthusiasts, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker also attended the special show.

Impressed by the play, Gowariker shared his admiration on social media. He posted several pictures taken with the actors and crew members backstage, along with a heartfelt message.


He particularly praised Shailesh Datar for his powerful portrayal of Chanakya. In his post, he commended the entire cast, highlighting the exceptional performances of Dnyanesh Wadekar and Chaitanya. Gowariker emphasized that the team's collective effort was truly commendable.

Furthermore, he lauded the set design, costume design, lighting, and music, mentioning that each department effectively transported him to the historical period depicted in the play. Apart from Gowariker, Rohini Hattangady was also in attendance. Originally written in Gujarati, Chanakya was later translated into Hindi and eventually into Marathi by Mihir Bhuta.
