Ashok Saraf mourns Ravindra Mahajani's death; says, 'We have lost our first 'handsome hero' of Marathi cinema'- Exclusive!

Marathi cinema's veteran star Ashok Saraf expressed grief on the demise of veteran actor-director Ravindra Mahajani who was found dead in a locked flat at Xrbia Housing Society in Talegaon, Pune.

Mourning the 'Mumbaicha Faujdar' actor's demise, Ashok Saraf said, "Today it was very sad when we got the news that Ravindra is no more with us. We have worked in a few Marathi films. He was just an amazing co-star and was also called a 'handsome hero' during 70-80's. So, we have lost our first 'handsome hero' of Marathi cinema. It's a big loss to the film industry."

According to reports, the police suspected the actor passed away around two-three days ago, however, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites after his autopsy.

For the universe, Mahajani is well-known for his role in films such as 'Mumbaicha Fauzdar' (1984) and 'Kalat Nakalat' (1990). He made his acting debut with the Bollywood film 'Saat Hindustani' helmed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas in 1969 and rose to prominence in the 1970s in the Marathi film industry.
