Actress
Anjali Patil has always awed us with her amazing acting skills and brilliant performances on a big screen. The 'Mann Fakiraa' actress recently released Marathi film 'Dithee' marked her first collaboration with the late filmmaker
Sumitra Bhave which has been receiving a lot of accolades after its digital release.
Sumitra, known for films like 'Devrai', 'Vastupurush', 'Astu' and 'Kaasav' died on April 19 at the age of 78.
While speaking exclusively with Etimes, Anjali Patil said "Sumitra maushi, as we know, she is actually the path breaker of Marathi films. She was one of those filmmakers, who changed everything about Marathi cinema. But at the same time, her cinema is very much unknown to the Marathi audience"
She further adds "Being a legendary filmmaker she had to struggle so much throughout her life to tell her stories. It was a great honour and privilege to be around her, to know her and to see her working style which is unlikely of any filmmaker. She came from very strong notions of society and responsibility towards society. So, working with her, was a very meditative experience.
