His recent film Anumati saw Vikram Gokhale bagging the Best Actor award at the 60th edition of the National Awards. And now this National Award winning director, Gajendra Ahire, who has made films like Not Only Mrs Raut, Shevri, Vasudev Balwant Phadke, etc is now all set with this next film - Postman. Says Ahire, "As the title suggests the film is about a postman, who delivers letters and while doing so, he develops a connect in particular with three families.
How this connect and their life stories have a bearing on the Postman, is what my film will talk about. Basically, it is a simple premise, but I think the cast that I have got - which includes Girish Kulkarni, Subodh Bhave, Sai Tamhankar, Radhika Apte, Kishore Kadam etc have embellished
the script with their performances. I think the film will be ready for release in August." Producer Prashant Ganu says, "Even before all the glory for Anumati was all over the media, I had taken on this project, because I found the story so interesting and engaging. I am sure the audiences will love it." Shot in districts like Bhor, Sangli, Vita and Pune, the cinematography has to lend the film a touch that takes you back in time and DOP Yogesh Rajguru is happy to be doing this.
