His songs like 'Khel Mandala', 'Mauli Mauli', 'Mann Udhan Varyache' have a soul-stirring quality; his ghazals spell sheer romance and touch the innermost core of your heart. But lyricist, poet, scriptwriter
Guru Thakur is candid enough to admit that acting is still his first love.
The multi-faceted creative genius, who will soon be seen in Atul Jagdales upcoming film, 'Ganvesh', sharing screen space with actors like Mukta Barve,
Kishor Kadam and
Smita Tambe, told us: After 'Natrang', which was my debut Marathi film as an actor, I didnt accept any film offer, although I started my journey via theatre first.
But then, my writing work overshadowed the actor in me. When Kishor Kadam, who is a friend with whom I have shared stage together for various shows, insisted that I do 'Ganvesh', I couldnt say no. So, for me this was a chance to share the screen with my dear friend and I agreed. And the response from everyone has been so encouraging that now I plan to do more films, which suit my sensibilities. Acting was always my first love and it is a chance for me to rediscover my first love.
