National Film Awards

were announced on 22nd March in New Delhi, with honours for films from the year 2019.




ETimes reached out to the filmmaker Vivek Wagh who was all praise for his producer and his team. Vivek said "'

Jakkal

' is a documentary based on 'Joshi-Abhyankar serial murders' which took place in Pune between January 1976 and March 1977. So, to make a documentary on the incident which occurred 40 was not an easy task. How Pune police investigated this case and what was the modus operandi behind these murders, has been explained in detailed"

"We did a lot of interviews and research to make this film. I am very grateful to my entire team and my producer Pratik Joshi, who supported us in this journey. This is my first National award as a director and I’m really very happy. It feels special when your work gets recognition" Wagh added.
