Marathi actor Nikhil Wairagar turns director

Actor Nikhil Wairagar, who is known for starring in Marathi films like Jalsa and Gatmat, plans to step behind the camera now. He is set to direct his first film, titled Hero. Written by Nikhil himself, the movie is his first outing as a filmmaker in a nine-year-long career in cinema.
Since acting has taught him a lot, he is certain that he will do well as a filmmaker.A source says, “Nikhil is sure about the film’s subject. He has been working on the script for over six months and is excited that his first directorial venture is set to go on the floors.”
Ask him why he decided to turn director, and Nikhil says, “Since I have spent so many years in the film industry, I have observed all the aspects of filmmaking closely. Besides being an actor, I am also a writer. It was my dream to direct a movie for a long time, but I was waiting for the right time and script. I have a good concept and I’m sure the audience will like my first project.”
