Review: Director Jeejivisha Kale has hit a homerun, with a thoroughly enjoyable story packed to the brim with intrigue that leaves a lasting impact.

Swati (Neha Pendse) and Sarika (Sonalee Kulkarni) are sisters who share a complicated relationship. Their mother (Bharti Achrekar) is suffering from cancer and as her condition worsens, the three personalities are brought together for the last time. Each of them faces their personal demons as they provide a helping hand to the other in this gut-wrenching yet hopeful drama.

Tighee is an example of a good story told well. Gripping you from the very first scene; the narrative pulls you in with each shared joyful moment and quirk. The film explores individual priorities with great care and manages to do so without falling prey to self-aggrandizing. The masterfully written story is given wings by the flawless performances from the three leading ladies. Each essay their roles to perfection, with nuances that will have you tearing up in many scenes.

The visual storytelling is quite ethereal, with the lighting and composition of each scene elevating the experience to create deep immersion. The film tackles some truly sensitive topics without an ounce of pretence or preachy grandstanding.
