Date Bhet

Review: 'Date Bhet' is less a movie and more a video catalog of picturesque London. Ananya (Sonalee Kulkarni) is a film-buff divorcee who is looking for love and finds the bumbling but well-intentioned Rohan (Hemant Dhome) who lives in London. The hope for a second shot at happiness leads her to visit him, only to realise that he is not the right fit. She runs into Aby (Santosh Juvekar) who becomes her guide through London as they bond and get closer.

The film’s themes of unrequited love and modern marriage are truly thought provoking. The story, however, does this a huge disservice. he conundrum the characters find themselves in is a goldmine for exploring relationships and love. This sadly takes a backseat to poorly written dialogue and forced acting by the cast. The predictable plot moves at a snail's pace as the audience is subject to awkward lines between Anaya and Rohan.

Dhome is stuck delivering hammy dialogues while Kulkarni and Juvekar do the bare minimum to keep the story going.
While the cinematography and sound design are great, director Lokesh Gupte doesn't use his actors to their potential, leading to a bland film that lacks narrative depth.

A paper thin plot, poor direction and clunky dialogues lead to 'Date Bhet' being an entirely skippable film.
