Story: A youngster moves to the big city to pursue further education. While he chases his dream of making it big in life, he also longs for the love of his life back home. But destiny has other plans. Review: Kay Zala Kalana is essentially a love story between Sharad (Swapnil Kale) and Pallavi (Girija Prabhu). But when Pallavi's parents try to marry her off to someone else, she commits suicide. Sharad is unaware of this and knows about it only later. This realisation happens through Pallavi's letters, which she had written before her death, and arranged for to be delivered to Sharad over a period of time after her death. Déjà vu? Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Well, kind of. So, Pallavi's letters help Sharad achieve his dreams and overcome struggles. The movie starts in the present and director Suchita Shabbir then takes the audience into flashback. A sweet and sour romance develops and gives the viewer hope of watching something different. However, the execution becomes monotonous and the grip on the narrative is soon lost making the film go haywire. While directing a love story, there is always a risk the story getting formulaic and the same happens with Kay Zala Kalana. Right from the characters to the story, there's nothing original about the movie .Performances are average and only Arun Nalawade as Sharad's father stands out. Portraying the role of a debt-ridden father trying to educate his son, the actor never goes overboard. But his act isn't enough to salvage the movie. The movie is a mix of disjoint story lines making it a not-so-interesting watch.
