My mom taught me to be independent: Aparna Gopinath

Aparna Gopinath is a self-confessed mommy’s girl.

The actress, who has always stood apart from the rest , off and on screen, says that it is her mother who has influenced her the most in life, be it in her life or career. “My mother has influenced me the most in my life. She was the one who taught me to have courage and strength, to be a confident individual and not get carried away by all that glitters,” she says. “”She taught me to always stand on my own two feet and to be independent.”
Her mother is also the reason she is an actress today, Aparna adds. “She gifted me with the greatest present in my life by introducing me to the stage. I am who I am today, as a person and as a professional, because of my mom.”

However, despite all this, her mother still treats her like a baby, she admits. “She spoils me silly and gives in to all of my whims and fancies. She treats me like I am five years old even today and I wouldn't have it any other way.”
