Sreesanth ��� Nikki Galrani starrer Team 5 draws its life from the milieu of bike racing. The songs are composed by Gopi Sunder and penned by B K Harinarayanan, who has many hits to boast of in the past few years. However, it���s unlikely that the album of Team 5 will have a similar reach.
The album starts with Azhcha, sung by Sooraj Santhosh, which has bikes vrooming in with the melody.The track has a great beat and likeable peppiness to it. However, the youth-centric words that are trying to give a ���cha-cha-cha��� lyrical effect do not impress, at least to those who follow the language.
Habeebi, the next song sung by composer Gopi Sunder is a free-flowing, vibrant song. It���s again high on energy levels both vocal and BGM-wise and sounds like a dance number. With confidence, the fast-paced track progresses well, but the song���s shelf life wouldn���t be much, for sure.
The album takes a detour and has a laidback number next, Megha Pakshi. Sung by Madhu Balakrishnan, the song is melodious and modern, and much better than the previous songs in the album. It can be a good pick for a slow-paced and contemplative road trip or stroll.
The best song of the album is Divya S Menon���s Neela Shankhu Pushpame, which gives it a neat finale. It has a slow- flow style. The best part about it is the first few minutes, post which it is quite regular and even lacklustre at times. The lyrics hardly stand out, but the song has a modern tune that captures the feelings of a love-struck soul.
Overall, the music of Team 5 is cosmetic in nature, but is worth checking it out.
