Sharing the song on her pages, Sithara wrote, ‘This is ‘Chaayapattu.’ It is written by Muhsin Parari, and was ‘painfully’ born during a chat session. Big thanks to Sreenath who played harmonium, Ramu who edited it, Ashwin who added the lines and boosted up the video, and Gopichettan who captured it feeling sorry for me while I was dealing with it all with my phone and a glass of black tea.’ Interestingly, the visuals of the song’s video are by composer – singer – actor Gopi Sundar.
Project Malabaricus is a 10-member band and Sithara, who had also turned a composer in movies recently, has called it a musical series listing tracks that don’t belong to any one genre of music. The songs of Project Malabaricus are composed by Sithara and singer Mithun Jayaraj, with whom she had composed songs for the movie Udalaazham - the film which was produced under the banner
