Singer Indulekha Warrier recites ‘Jeeva Malayalam’ poem

Warrier shared a video in which she can be seen soulfully reciting a poem about Malayalam.

Titled ‘

Jeeva Malayalam

,’ it is written by Alex Vallikkunnam and the poem is all about how many firsts for us are Malayalam and how precious it is in our lives. It also describes how the language is the one in which Malayalis experience precious milestones in life like mom’s lullabies, interaction with one’s friends, family and more.

The poem’s writer, Alex Vallikkunnam, has written books like ‘Thoppil Bhasiyum Kure Ormakalum,’ ‘ K T Enna Soothradhaaran,’ ‘Jose Chirammel Oru Sphudathaarakam,’ ‘Vazhi Thetti Vanna Kaattu,’ and has also been an active presence in the theatre – TV – movie fields for the past many years.

Singer Indulekha, who is also the daughter of actor Jayaraj Warrier, made the debut in the year 2014, through the song ‘Eeran Kannilo’ for the Jayasurya – starrer movie ‘Apothicarry.’ She was also part of a musical reality show in the year 2015. After that, she had sung a song in Tamil, composed by Vidyasagar, for the film ‘Uchathila Siva.’ She had also sung in the Ansuree-starrer film ‘Autorsha’ a while ago. The singer has also played a small part in the Malayalam film ‘Loud Speaker,’ starring Mammootty, a few years ago. She has also been bringing out rap tracks based on themes like women’s independence and cyber bullying in the past few months. Her most recent rap track was titled ‘Poimukhangal.’
