Shweta Mohan wishes G Venugopal, who completes 36 years in playback singing

Mohan is one among them. The video was shared by Venugopal as well on his page, captioning it: Words straight from the heart. Sweta, my niece, our pride, the singing star of this generation, from our Parur family (sic)!

In the video, Shweta says, “Our dearest singer and my loving uncle G Venugopal completes 36 years in music industry this year. On this occasion, I feel so proud and blessed that I am born in such a musically illustrious family. I thank God for the same. My mom has often spoken at home about Venu mama’s hard work, her experiences of working with him and more. Like all of you, I am his fan first, and only after than am I his niece. All of his songs are so well-rendered. Though we can’t say that he has sung thousands and thousands of songs, all of his tracks are gems. They give you goose bumps, and I need not say this, everyone knows it.”

The singer says that if someone asks what’s her most favourite song sung by him, she can’t pick just one. “I can’t omit any of them. But still, one that’s everyone’s favourite is ‘Chandana Mani Vaathil Paathi Chaari’ and he has given a genuine touch to every phrase in that song.” Shweta goes on to sing a few lines of the song in the video, post which she also conveys best wishes to G Venugopal’s family.
