On the track, Ratheesh says, “This time to mark the festive season, I didn’t have any films, so I wanted to do a single. The song is about an Onam that people are missing and it’s about the memories of celebrating the festival, from the point of view of a woman. Anne Anie has sung and acted in the music video.”

The song’s lyrics are written by Thrissur West circle inspector

Salish N Sankaran

, who had also acted earlier this year as a DYSP in Prithviraj and Biju Menon-starrer Ayyappanum Koshiyum. “This year, we didn’t have many

Onam songs

and that’s the main reason why we wanted to do the track. But as Malayalis, we have to celebrate the festival somehow and this was our attempt to remind why Onam is special to us during these trying times,” says the Beautiful and Run Baby Run composer.

Ratheesh and Salish have been working on the track for the past month. “Initially, he wrote a few lines and I composed a tune, and after that he penned the rest of the lyrics. We have tried to bring a soothing melody with the song because the lines are beautiful,” explains the music director, who had scripted Thrissurpooram last year and had also composed for Anoop Menon’s upcoming directorial King Fish.
