The songs of Ottamandaram are all poetic and slightly melancholic in nature, in keeping with its tragic theme. Director Vinod Mankara has penned the lyrics of both the songs while Ramesh Narayanan has composed them. The film has some of the best voices of the age; Sujatha and daughter Swetha Mohan and Vijay Yesudas among them. Mampoo Pozhikunna Katte sung by Sujatha is a slow and melancholic composition and for the same reason, the focus is on the poetic lyrics.
Onnam Kombathe is yet another slow track, a lullaby, for which Swetha Mohan has lent her voice. The background is minimal in this track as well as the others. Aru Vangum Innaru Vangam is also a short poetic composition featuring Vijay Yesudas and Madhusree Narayanan.
