Jayasurya’s film Njan Marykutty has managed to achieve critical acclaim for essaying the role of a transwoman and striking a chord with the audience. The film’s songs and lyrics are also well thought of, as it aptly brings the essence of the character’s life, trials and tribulations.
The latest song from the film titled Kaana Kadalasilaro was out recently, and it is a soulful recreation of Marykutty’s aspirations in life, and how she can never be cowed down by the conventional society.
The song, composed by Anand Madhusoodanan, is beautifuly sung by Sithara Krishnakumar and the lines are penned by Santhosh Varma. It has a strong message inscribed within to never feel dejected or give up, despite being through hard times in life.
