Najim should have won the best singer award: Aleppy Ranganath

The State Film Award for the best singer this year had to face a number of controversies, for the confusion regarding the deserving singer.
While Kollywood singer Karthik took home the coveted prize, jury member Aleppy Ranganath says that Najim Arshad should have won the award, if his track Ezhu Sundara Swapnam��� was not a duet. Apparently, the jury was quite happy with his rendition, but could not bestow the award on him as the song was not a solo, and also had the female portion sung by Shweta Mohan.
