'Najim Arshad against dowry

Singer Najim Arshad has spoken out against the practice of dowry through a facebook post. He started the post by opining that the purity should be maintained throughout the year and not just during the month of Ramzan. "What's the use of offering prayers in this month and living the other months without any control on one's life.."
Najim also took the opportunity to opine that those who accept dowry is not real worshippers."People ask for dowry of 500 pavan for thier son who is a doctor. To get back the money they spent on his education. And then immediately they go for umrah.., why? Will god accept thier prayers after they treat the bride like cattle...!!!" he wrote.
