Lakshmi Sreekumar has penned the lyrics for the song, for which M Jayachandran has done the music.MG Sreekumar has given voice to the song. The previous day BJP announced a hartal and the unpredictable hartal however didn't affect the release of the film. However, the reports suggest that the movie hasn't met the expectations of the audience. There have been mixed reviews from the audience after the release of the film.
‘Odiyan’, is a Mohanlal starring fantasy thriller, directed by VA Shrikumar Menon. It is based on a Kerala folklore named ‘Odiyan,’ a man who could take the form of an animal in certain cases. It is related to a fantasy about men who are able to shape-shift and take various forms. Men who could take shape of an animal, the ‘Odiyan’, are known to be special characters in Malabar folk culture of Kerala. The film is produced under Aashirvad Productions. Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier will play lead roles alongside Mohanlal.
