‘Jimikki Kammal’ singer starts Navaratri concert series

Malayalam singer Renjith Unni, who shot to fame through the song ‘Jimikki Kammal’ that had become an international hit a few years ago, launches a Navaratri music series.
Like many singers, who lean onto the virtual space for performance due to the pandemic restrictions, Renjith too presents his Navaratri concerts via his online page. The concert started two days ago and has been winning some positive response from music lovers.
On the first day, he sang ‘Devi Jagajjanani,’ in raag Sankarabharanam and on the second day, he presented ‘Pahimam Sri Vageeswari,’ in Kalyani raag.

Both of them are Swati Tirunal krithis. It has been a refreshing change for both the singer and his fans, who are used to hearing him perform contemporary songs. The vocalist sings the classical numbers effortlessly and has been winning some solid appreciation too.
A few months ago, the singer had also released a music video titled ‘Swaramadhuram,’ which was dedicated to his little son, who had to celebrate his birthday during the lockdown period.
Renjith, who debuted in Malayalam through the film ‘Doctor Love’ released in the year 2011, has the song ‘Avanalle’ from the film as his first song. He has also sung ‘Nannaavolla’ from the same film, ‘Kaanaachiraku Tharoo’ from the 2017 released film ‘Achayans,’ ‘Puliyunde Nariyunde’ from the 2018 movie ‘Shikkaari Shambhu,’ ‘Dheera Dheera,’ ‘Salaam Rocky Bhai’ and ‘Shwasa Kattin’ from ‘KGF’ in 2018, among other songs. He was also part of the harmonies of the song ‘Oru Manam,’ composed by Harris Jayaraj’ and sung by Karthik and Shashaa Tirupati,’ most recently.
