Ekalavyan's Lokame trailer gives a glimpse of the gritty rap number

It started as a little

rap

presented at a casual get together with friends a few months back, and now

Ekalavyan

is set to release a single,

Lokame

, as the debut production of Mamta Mohandas and business partner Noel Ben’s company, Mamta Mohandas Productions. The

for the edgy rap number, “a power packed and thought provoking single”, was released on social media on Saturday by actor Dulquer Salmaan.

The track is written and sung by Ekalavyan, and directed by Bani Chand Babu. The cinematography is by Abinandhan Ramanujam, and choreography by Prasanna Sujit.

When he presented the rap in June, he had written on social media, “There are these rare occasions when I feel like writing and on one such occasion I wrote a few lines and people near and dear are calling it rap... I'm doing but it has come straight from the heart which makes me want to call it rebel poetry.” The casually presented rap, which was recorded and put on social media by friends, had garnered more than a million views.

Lokame, which seems to have an anthem-like feel, speaks about the social and political issues in our society. The track is set to release on November 14, according to Mamta’s social media page. It is not surprising that Mamta chose to debut with a song production under her banner, considering that the actor has not only sung playback, but also recently lent her voice to Thedal, a track written by Sachin Ramdas and composed by Sachin Warrier.
