,’ uploaded a touching video message today, on the occasion of his mom’s birthday.

His mom turns 60 today but due to the prevailing situation, the family’s celebration is low-key. This is what Anand had to say:

“Today is my mother’s 60th birthday, or shastipoorthi. We really wanted to celebrate it in a grand manner, but couldn’t, due to the current situation and issues. Then she said, ‘It’s ok, just the four of us is enough.’ My dad, mom, my wife Anu and me. We are in our flat in Ernakulam now. We have declared a small hartal for the kitchen today, and that’s the only celebration.

But, I felt I need to say a few things today. I feel if I don’t do it, the day will not be complete, that’s why. All mom’s say that the moment in which their child is born is the most precious moment in their life. How many preparations are undertaken for the same, isn’t it, from the time she gets pregnant?

You can’t sleep in the position that you want to, you have to be very careful when you walk… isn’t it like their complete freedom goes for a toss? After all that, they even lose the taste for the various eatables that they like. New tastes start developing. Adding to that are issues like vomiting, and its post all that, one delivers a baby.

In my case, though my mom wanted an uncomplicated delivery, I was late, so she had to undergo a C-Section. She had to endure the pain of that too for a while. And after all that, she had to also take the pain of the injection to prevent infection…” The composer goes on to explain how his mom had to make various sacrifices over years.

He concludes the video thus, “I hope my mom, who likes to travel, gets to travel a lot more in the future and also gets to see our next generation. I also thank her for being my mom.”
