Aadupuliyattam

Mollywood gets to hear Ratheesh Vega after a break through Aadupuliyattam, and he has put together some likeable tracks for the album.

Veteran singer P Jayachandran smoothly croons the first song Vaalmuna Kannile which is dreamy and romantic. The song sounds intrinsically soft right from the first note, and the silken vocals of the singer enchant you. Actress Mamta Mohandas and composer Ratheesh Vega turn singers for the next track, Karuppana Kannazhaki, a peppy song, also a tad raw folk number. The song seems to be intended as a playful one, and the crooners exude the right emotions. But the composition isnt catchy enough.
Najim Arshad and Rimi Tomy sing the next song Chilum Chilum, a reasonably likeable composition with a simple melody. However, the crawling pace eventually makes it boring. The singers have rendered it mellifluously and the occasional flute orchestration is beautiful. The album ends on a tipsy note with the song Manjakattil Pokande, sung by actors Jayaram, Pashanam Shaji and Ramesh Pisharody. Celebrating in intoxication, the guys brag about their exploits in the song. Some bawdy lyrics and sluggish paced music make it an easily recognizable booze song like the others, but it has no standalone musical merit.
