Shaheen Sidhique, son of veteran actor Siddique debuted as Mammootty’s son in Pathemari. The latest we got to know is that Shaheen’s second movie too will be with the megastar. The actor is part of Nithin Renji Panicker’s maiden movie, Kasaba. “Shaheen plays a 25-year-old youngster, Arjun, in the movie, who is on a road trip with his fiancée to Bangalore.
While it is not a full-length role, it is critical to the film as the journey forms the plot,” says Nithin, adding that he cannot reveal much about the role. He also divulges that
Mammootty plays a police officer in the film.
Meanwhile, Shaheen says that it is always a confidence booster to act alongside Mammootty, who is like an elder brother to his dad. The young actor is all praise for Mammootty who he considers his role model. “He has his own set of rules. As soon as he walks in, the entire set becomes disciplined. Everyone loves and respects him and that reflects in the set’s atmosphere. I not only want to emulate Mammootty’s discipline in life but also his style of acting,” says Shaheen, adding that he keeps taking tips from the seasoned actor, whom he refers to as his Moothappa. “He advises me to be myself and to act as if I am reacting to the incidents in real life. He keeps telling me, ‘You do not have to desperately try to be the character. It will eventually happen,’” he says.
Shaheen had no combination scenes with Mammootty in Pathemari, but this time he was a bit anxious as he was sharing screen space with him. “I tried to be extremely careful not to make a mistake when I was with him. I was a bit anxious but things went well; he was very cool and lively so it was easy for me. I was more alert than usual, and did my best because I did not want to spoil a scene with Moothappa,” he explains.
So will his third movie too be with Mammootty? “Insha Allah! I wish so. So far I have not committed to any movie,” he signs off.
