Police Officers turned actors who made it big in Mollywood

Mollywood has seen several actors putting on the police uniform to play fearless cops on screen. All our superstars — Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and even the young stars like Prithviraj and Fahadh Faasil have tried their luck in khaki uniforms. However, there are quite a few of them who have actually donned the uniform in real life and have made it big in Mollywood. Let us take a look at these actors.

Sathyan

One of the greatest actors in India, Sathyan was a police inspector in Travancore State Police before acting bug bit him. During the famous Punnapra-Vayalar uprising, he was the Police Inspector in Alappuzha North Police Station. Sathyan had also worked as a soldier (Viceroy's Commissioned Officer), clerk and as a school teacher too. He served in British army during the second World War. Perhaps, it is due to his police background that he is regarded as the toughest actor in the Malayalam film industry.
