The hero of new-wave cinema


Dulquer, after his debut in the year 2012 with the movie Second Show, showed promise of a long run in the Malayalam film industry. Dulquer's first new-wave cinema was his second film Usthad Hotel which gave a kick start to his career in the film industry. This coming-of-age film was loved and applauded by the audience and was declared blockbuster at the box-office. His other new-wave cinema are ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013), Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (2013), Pattam Pole (2013), Bangalore Days (2014) and 100 Days of Love (2015).

Dulquer Salmaan has always stated that his daddy cool, Mammootty is his best friend with whom he shares amazing rapport. Mammootty has always been proud of his son's career growth. He even posts pictures of his dad at the shoot or at a family get-together. Even at award functions, their chemistry is very sweet and adorable. Even during the Twitter controversy of director Ram Gopal Varma, where the director tweeted that Mammootty is like a junior artiste as compared to his son Mammootty and he should learn acting from his son; Dulquer gave a firm reply to RGV’s comment by tweeting, "In ten lifetimes, I won't be one millionth the actor my father is, no matter what I accomplish."

Handsome hunk Dulquer has awed the audience with his romantic roles. He showed his romantic side in the film Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (2013) opposite Surja Bala Hijam. This movie showed the love story between a Malayali and a girl from Nagaland. In Pattam Pole (2013), the plot revolves around a couple who elopes and later realises it is a mistake and get separated, only to be reunited again. Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen have lately become the best onscreen couple of the South film industry, and their sizzling chemistry can be seen in the movies O Kadhal Kanmani and 100 Days Of Love (2015).
