Writer Sujith Balakrishnan is all set for his debut directorial venture ‘Zero Degree’ which is based on the story of the real-life lady killer Dr. Omana who is also known by the name ‘Lady Sukumarakurippu’.
According to the updates, a prominent actress in the Malayalam film will be playing the real-life lady killer character Dr. Omana in ‘Zero Degree’ and the film will be made in both Malayalam and Tamil languages and will be filmed in Ooty and Bihar. Apart from the Malayalam casts, several other Tamil actors will be also part of the film directed by Sujith Balakrishnan. Full details on the cast of ‘Zero Degree’ will be soon announced by the director himself.
For the unversed, ‘Zero Degree’ is based on the real-life brutal murder that happened 26 years back in Ooty Railway resthouse. A civil contractor named Muralidharan, who is a Payyanur resident, was killed by his lover Dr. Omana who later cut the body into several pieces and stacked it in a suitcase. The brutal event was later called by the name ‘suitcase murder’ and the efforts of the police in catching the killer were in vain.

Meanwhile, Sujith Balakrishnan is well known for penning several books such as ‘Dubai Stories’, ‘The Chronicle of Golgotha Days’, ‘Being in Shirshasan’, ‘Humanoid’, and ‘Bahubali’. He has also written a novel based on the infamous Suryanelli rape case which gained much attention from the readers.
