Yuvam trailer is trending online

The trailer of Amith Chakkalakkal movie Yuvam is out on social media, and it seems to be in step with the mood of youthful rebellion that is a timeless story. Apparently based on a true incident, Yuvam is about three young lawyers, played by Amith, Nirmal Palazhy and Abhishek Raveendran, who get thrown into an important case, involving a powerful political figure.

And while Yuvam at its heart seems to be a socio-political drama with punchy dialogues and ‘edge of seat’ moments, it has romance and plenty of laugh out loud situations, with the young lawyers who are doing their ‘apprenticeship’ under senior advocate and mentor, played by Indrans. “I was keen that my first case should be socially important, so I backed out of the 98 cases that came before this,” says the lawyer played to hilarious effect by Nirmal. But it looks like when the going gets tough, they will step up and tackle the issues, with the young trio using digital and traditional media to unearth corruption and more.
The trailer for the film, written and directed by newcomer Pinku Peter, has been trending on social media with over 2 lakh views since it was released on Republic Day. The film, which also has Sidhique, Dayyana Hameed and Kalabhavan Shajon in prominent roles, has music by Gopi Sunder to lyrics by BK Harinarayanan. Cinematography is by Sajith Purushan and Johnkutty is the editor. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on February 12.
