In an old interview with Film Companion, Sai Pallavi spoke about how insecure she was. Like many other teenagers, she had doubts about her voice, the way she looks, and her acne. However, director Alphonse Puthren was very confident and thought 'this girl is something', and the audience resonated with it.

Sai Pallavi's portrayal of Malar, a college lecturer, was refreshingly authentic. Unlike the conventional portrayal of heroines in Indian cinema, Sai Pallavi appeared on screen without makeup, flaunting her acne, and natural curly hair, and a radiant smile. In fact, ‘Premam’ made people look at women with acne in a new light. She had also spoken about how she felt confident as a person because of the film and the director’s confidence in her.

Interestingly, according to some reports, Sai Pallavi was offered a whopping sum to endorse a face cream, which she refused.

On the work front, Sai Pallavi will be next seen in ‘Amaran’. She is also shooting for director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta among others. She will also be seen sharing screen space with Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan who recently made his debut with Maharaj.
