When makers of ‘Varane Avashyamund’ honoured the iconic ‘Gange’ scene!

’ directed by Anoop Sathyan caught the attention of the movie buffs for a lot of reasons and one among them was watching the ‘Manichithrathazhu’ pair Suresh Gopi and Shobana together. The movie turned out to be nostalgic for many, as it had some surprises and one among them was obviously the ‘Gange’ scene. The makers of the movie decided to honour the superstars Suresh Gopi and Shobana and recreated their iconic scene from ‘Manichithrathazhu’ with a little twist!

Anoop Sathyan shares that the ‘Gange’ scene was created in ‘Varane Avashyamund’ out of pure curiosity! “When I got the ‘Suresh Gopi - Shobana' combination, the 'Gange' scene was added out of pure curiosity,” he shares in the video.

The debutant filmmaker also divulges that they had tried to imitate even the actions and mannerisms of the characters from ‘Manichithrathazhu’ in the particular scene in ‘Varane Avashyamund’. In ‘Manichithrathazhu’, Ganga (Shobana) has bipolar disorder and is almost possessed by the persona of Nagavalli and in the iconic scene, one can see Ganga’s transformation into Nagavalli and then her returning back as Ganga. In ‘Varane Avashyamund’, Neena (Shobana) is watching a soap starring Aakashavani (KPAC Lalitha) on her mobile phone and gets disrupted when Major (Suresh Gopi) screams ‘Gange’! “In that frame, we can see Neena, Nagavalli, and Ganga all in one. And obviously Nakulan!” Anoop Sathyan adds.

‘Varane Avashyamund’ marks the directorial debut of Anoop Sathyan. The film featured Suresh Gopi, Shobana, KPAC Lalitha, Dulquer Salmaan, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles. The movie was released last year and it won the hearts of movie buffs for all the right reasons.
