As Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’ is minting magnificent numbers at the box office, let’s take a look at the time when Fahadh Faasil revealed that the Allu Arjun starrer was initially planned as a single movie.
In an old interview with The Cue Studio, Fahadh Faasil revealed that the director Sukumar initially narrated the police station sequence in ‘Pushpa 1’ to him and during that time the movie was planned as a single film.
In the first narrated script the police station scene was followed by an interval and then Fahadh Faasil’s character was introduced after the intermission. According to Fahadh Faasil, Sukumar later decided that the movie could be extended to two parts.
“This red-sandalwood concept was first pitched as a web series by Sukumar sir. The content was vast and he told me later that there is even a scope for Pushpa 3,” said Fahadh Faasil during the interview.
According to Fahadh Faasil, Sukumar wanted the first part to end at the point where the movie started and then move on to the second part. “Sukumar sir wanted to tell the story of a person who started from nowhere, achieved everything in life, including his mother’s wishes, and at the very end point, the villain comes and inflicts him with the inferiority complex which Pushpa had from the very beginning. This is what Sukumar sir briefed me about ‘Pushpa’,” said Fahadh.
Fahadh Faasil later said that during the shoot, Sukumar told him that even though his dialogues were given prior, he would make changes to them. “He told me to take ample time. Even if I don’t want the shoot to happen on that day, I can freely convey. But we will shoot this scene in this way itself,” Fahadh said during the interview, highlighting that he was comfortable during the shoot.
Meanwhile, ‘Pushpa 2’ has now collected over Rs 456.6 crores from India in 3 days.
