#Whatif: ‘Home Alone’was made in Mollywood

Welcome back guys, today we are all in for another exciting episode of our #Whatif series. Have you ever been in a situation where you are home alone and suddenly a group of burglars breaks into your house? If not, then today’s episode is clearly meant for you as we will be exploring the Hollywood classic comedy movie ‘Home Alone ’ and look into the possibilities of the film being remade in Mollywood. So get your tickets ready. Over to Simon.

#Whatif 'Hangover' was made in Mollywood

#Simon says, “Hello guys, today I want you to be completely silent as we will be breaking into that nearby house and you guys please be careful as there is a little kid in the house who is a little mischievous and clever for his age. Today we will be looking into the possibilities of ‘#Whatif ‘Home Alone’ was remade in Mollywood. So cover your faces with this mask and follow me as Etimes presents the ninth episode of the #Whatif series.”

Possibility 1: Kevin as Rohan

#Simon says, “Remember the Malayalam film ‘Ayyappante Amma Neyyappam Chuttu’? The kid character named Rohan could be perfect for playing the role of the mischievous and brilliant kid Kevin from the movie ‘Home Alone ’. There are also scenes in the film ‘Ayyappante Amma Neyyappam Chuttu’, where Rohan does fool the characters in the movie with his clever tactics taught to him by his friend character named Monappan. So Rohan reprising the role of Kevin in the Mollywood remake of ‘Home Alone’ could be just perfect.”

Possibility 2: Thief Harry Lime as Jagathy

#Simon says, “The character ‘Harry Lime’ in ‘Home Alone ’ is the leader of the burglary squad and the character could fit perfectly for the talented and legendary Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar. Playing a comedy character is just a cakewalk for actor Jagathy Sreekumar and he would really shine in the role of Thief Harry Lime”

Possibility 3: Marv Muchins as Harisree Ashokan

#Simon says, “The thief character Marv Muchins in ‘Home Alone ’ is undoubtedly one of the funniest characters in the film. The character has a lot of potential in terms of doing action comedies and the Malayalam actor who aces at action-comedies is none other than Harisree Ashokan. Just imagine Jagathy Sreekumar and Harisree Ashokan reprising the roles of two funny thieves in the Mollywood remake of ‘Home Alone ’, the film would be a laugh-riot.”

Possibility 4:Home Alone- the ‘Varathan’ version

#Simon says, “Anyone who has watched the Malayalam drama thriller movie ‘Varathan’ which is directed by Amal Neerad, would never forget the last 10 minute home invasion action sequence performed by the actor Fahadh Faasil. If the Mollywood remake of ‘Home Alone’ was directed by Amal Neerad, then the whole duration of the film would be just under 20 minutes and the originally PG-13 rated movie will be ‘R’ rated as the remake would be filled with violent action scenes. Poor thieves Harry Lime and Marv Muchins!”

Possibility 5: Pigeon Lady as K.P.A.C Lalitha

#Simon says, “The character Brenda Fricker or referred to as the ‘Pigeon Lady’ in the film ‘Home Alone’ is one of the motivational characters in the film. Coming to the Mollywood remake of ‘Home Alone’, there is none other than the actress K.P.A.C Lalitha who can play motivational character roles to its perfection.”

Possibility 6: Mr. Hector as Jagadish

#Simon says, “Mr. Hector is one of the antagonist characters in ‘Home Alone’ movie who works as the concierge at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Coming to the Malayalam remake, the character Mr. Hector could be perfectly reprised by the actor Jagadish as he is truly magnificent in playing characters with a cunning outlook with a crooked mind.”

Possibility 7: Directed by Jis Joy

#Simon says, “We have discussed the possibility of Amal Neerad directing the ‘R’ rated version of ‘Home Alone’. Now the ‘PG-13’ version of the Mollywood remake would be perfect in the hands of the director Jis Joy who is famous for ‘feel-good’ films. The Jis Joy version of ‘Home Alone’ would definitely have a motivational speech made by the actress K.P.A.C Lalitha’s character ‘Pigeon Lady’. Thus the apt person to direct the Malayalam remake of ‘Home Alone’ is none other than the director Jis Joy.”

#Simon says, “So we have discussed most of the possibilities that could happen if the Hollywood classic comedy film ‘Home Alone’ was remade in Mollywood. Mollywood industry has a great track record of executing perfect comedy entertainers and if the Mollywood remake of ‘Home Alone’ happens, then it would definitely be an addition to one among such superhit comedy movies. So see you guys next week with an exciting episode of #Whatif series. Till then bye.”
