#Whatif: ‘Baby’s Day Out’ was made in Mollywood

Welcome back my mighty travelers, so we have reached the tenth episode of our ‘#Whatif’ journey. Today’s journey will surely evoke nostalgia in you as we have booked the tickets to one of the best comedy movies in Hollywood, ‘Baby’s Day Out ’. Before starting the journey, let me open up a trivia about the movie. Remember the adorable kid Baby Bink in the movie? Actually, that character was played by two actors Jacob Joseph Worton and Adam Robert Worton. The night scenes in the film were shot with one child actor and the morning shoots were executed with the other child actor. Pretty interesting isn’t it? Get your tickets ready as more interesting things are on the way. Over to Simon.

Possibility 1: Eddie Mauser as Cochin Haneefa

#Simon says, “It’s a known fact that the Malayalam industry has a huge list of actors who are good at executing comedy. The character Eddie Mauser in ‘Baby’s Day Out’ is the gang leader who kidnaps Baby Bink and in the Mollywood remake of ‘Baby’s Day Out’, who else is perfect to reprise the role other than Cochin Haneefa? He could just nail the role of Eddie Mauser in the Malayalam remake of ‘Baby’s Day Out’.”

Possibility 2: Norby LeBlaw as Harisree Ashokan

#Simon says, “ The character Norby LeBlaw was originally played by the actor Joe Pantoliano who excels in performing action comedies. Coming to the Malayalam remake version of ‘Baby’s Day Out’, we have our Harisree Ashokan who can flawlessly reprise the comedic gangster character Norby LeBlaw. The character would remain iconic in Harisree Ashokan’s filmography and would be a great addition to his ‘Ramanan’ character in the Dileep starrer ‘Punjabi House’.”

Possibility 3: Veeko Riley as Jagathy Sreekumar

#Simon says, “Finally the three legends in the Malayalam film industry, Cochin Haneefa, Harisree Ashokan, and Jagathy Sreekumar have come together. The gangster character Veeko Riley can be perfectly essayed by Jagathy Sreekumar and you can expect nothing less than magic to happen on screen if he portrays the character.”

Possibility 4: The iconic Gorilla scene

#Simon says, “Anyone who has watched the film ‘Baby’s Day Out’ would never forget the iconic Gorilla scene in the film where the gangsters try to steal baby Bink from the hands of a Gorilla. Coming to the Malayalam remake, due to budget constraints, this scene will most probably be replaced with another situation where Baby Bink gets trapped in a dog’s cage and the gangsters try to steal him from the dog.”

Possibility 5: Babysitter Gilbertine as Kalpana

#Simon says, “Gilbertine is the babysitter character in the film ‘Baby’s Day Out’, and it’s because of her carelessness that Baby Bink goes missing. In the Malayalam remake of ‘Baby’s Day Out’, actress Kalpana will be an ideal replacement for the character Gilbertine.”

Possibility 6: Directed by Sathyan Anthikad

#Simon says, “Even though the Hollywood film ‘Baby’s Day Out’ is a complete comedy entertainer, there is an underlying family drama that happens throughout the movie. For this exact reason, If there happens to be a Malayalam remake for ‘Baby’s Day Out’, then the director Sathyan Anthikad would be the perfect choice to direct the film as he is a master at handling family drama weaved with comedy elements.”

#Simon says, “We have assembled most of the talented star cast in the Malayalam film industry for the Mollywood remake of the superhit Hollywood movie ‘Baby’s Day Out’. The script of the original film ‘Baby’s Day Out’ also gives much space for the actors Cochin Haneefa, Harisree Ashokan, Jagathy Sreekumar, and Kalpana to unveil their talents. So today we have looked into many of the possibilities on ‘#Whatif ‘Baby’s Day Out’ was made in Mollywood’. See you guys next week with yet another exciting episode of the #Whatif series. Till then bye.”
