Kathiawadi’ tells the story of a young girl named Ganga who later becomes Gangubai, a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura. The film is said to be loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, aka Gangubai Kothewali, from Hussain Zaidi’s novel ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Cinephiles are eagerly awaiting to see Alia Bhatt transforming into Gangubai as the film is hitting the big screens on February 25.
