Vineeth Sreenivasan shares his take on nepotism, says it’s okay when the film works, and cites Prithviraj Sukumaran, Fahadh Faasil, and Dulquer Salmaan

Vineeth Sreenivasan is currently basking in the success of his latest release, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’. Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ has an ensemble cast of Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Neeta Pillai, and Nivin Pauly. Interestingly, the film stars Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and the director himself. Vineeth recently shared his perspective on the whole nepotism debate.

In an interview with Film Companion, Vineeth Sreenivasan expressed that people from film families entering the entertainment industry aren’t problematic if they are hardworking.

“As long as the film works, it is okay. But when the films don’t work and the actors who come from the film family are given project after project, then that’s a problem,” Vineeth Sreenivasan said.

He also cited Prithviraj Sukumaran, Fahadh Faasil, and Dulquer Salmaan as some instances where they made their own place in the industry with hard work and determination. “If you look at Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Fassil, or Prithviraj Sukumaran, they’re all delivering and are working hard. As long as you’re working hard and you’re pushing the envelope and being successful, then nobody minds,” Vineeth Sreenivasan expressed.

For the uninitiated, Vineeth is the elder son of veteran actor-screenwriter-filmmaker Sreenivasan. Vineeth is a multi-faceted talent; he is a talented filmmaker, singer, scriptwriter, and also an actor.

Meanwhile, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ is currently running successfully in the cinema. In four days of its release, the film has managed to cross Rs 30 crore in the box office collection globally.
