Vineeth Sreenivasan: Shaan and I are now consciously trying to give newcomers opportunities
Some of the latest collaborations of music director Shaan Rahman and actor-filmmaker-singer Vineeth Sreenivasan have been peaking charts. The latest song Rasathi has also followed suit to the top of the music charts.
Ask Vineeth about the success formula and he says, “We are counting our blessings – starting from the prayers of both our mothers. Shaan too probably believes that. Recently, scriptwriter Suneesh Varanad was joking about Shaan, saying, ‘Even when he is on some other path, God calls him back, blesses him and sends him off.’ We could feel that.

So, what he is consciously trying to do – whenever he can – is to introduce new singers. When you are getting something, you also have to give it back. I also try to do that whenever there is a possibility to accommodate talented actors.”
The actor also promises that Aravindinte Adithikal has some of the most beautiful songs they have worked on. “There’s a track called Aanandame, which we haven’t released yet. The background score is full of songs. Once when we scoring for the music, our producer had asked if we included two more songs. And we did. Whenever we got some space, we called up lyricists BK Harinarayanan or Manu Manjith, explained the context and asked them if they can send a few lines. So many such songs have made it as part of the score for the film,” says Vineeth.
The actor also talked about working with his father Sreenivasan, how fatherhood has changed him, his tryst with celebrity guests when he was young. Check out the entire interview in Kochi Times’ April 18 edition.
