Director Vineeth Sreenivasan unveiled intriguing trivia about the casting of the beloved character Selva in his directorial venture, 'Hridayam.' While actor Kalesh Ramanand ultimately charmed audiences with his portrayal, Vineeth Sreenivasan disclosed that originally, Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj was considered for the role.

Speaking to Kaumudy, Vineeth Sreenivasan delved into the behind-the-scenes of 'Hridayam,' reminiscing about the film's journey and the casting decisions that shaped its narrative. He revealed that prior to the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's film 'Leo,' he had approached the director to essayize the character of Selva in 'Hridayam.'

Expressing his vision for the character, Vineeth Sreenivasan stated, "I wanted that character to be played by a person who looks like Lokesh." However, due to constraints related to Lokesh’s movie promotions and other commitments, the ‘Leo’ director couldn't commit to the role, leading to a change in casting plans.

It was then that the producer, Visakh, suggested actor Kalesh Ramanand for the role of Selva. Kalesh Ramanand's portrayal of the innocent and charming Selva cemented his place in the hearts of viewers.

Meanwhile, Vineeth Sreenivasan's latest directorial venture, 'Varshangalkku Shesham,' is set to hit the silver screens on April 11th. The film revolves around the journey of two young men from Kerala who venture into the cinephile world of Kodambakkam, Madras, in pursuit of their dreams.
