The Mollywood actor Vinayakan recently expressed his contempt towards big-budget CGI films during the press meeting function held for his recently released VK Prakash’s directorial film ‘Oruthee’. Vinayakan said that most of the films that rely hugely on CGI aspect are garbage and are made with the only motive of cheating the audience.

Vinayakan made this dramatic response apropos the topic of small-scale Malayalam films getting washed out whenever there is a release of a CGI-focused film that is mounted on a large scale, majorly focussing on the upcoming Telugu film ‘RRR’.

Vinayakan said, “ Truth to be told, most of these so-called CGI films are garbage and it's not a matter to be laughed at. I have started watching this CGI thing years before. People first need to understand the real definition of CGI and then only start praising such things. You see a CGI scene of a man who is mounted on an elephant and immediately start heaping praise on how flawless the scene is. But in reality, it's plain stupid as it's clearly visible that the person is not positioned properly above the elephant and is actually floating in the air. If you haven't noticed this flaw yet, then I can only say that you guys are illiterate on what is CGI.”

Director VK Prakash backed Vinayakan’s opinion by saying that the use of computer graphics was initiated long back in the advertising field. He also said that he still admires the legendary Malayalam director IV Sasi who has directed films packed with more than 1500 people and that too without the use of CGI.
‘Oruthee’ director further added, “ We have grown watching such legendary films of IV Sasi sir and still I look at his films in awe. I don't feel anything new when watching new-age films as it is filled with lies to cheat the audience. It's all pure business.”

Meanwhile, the Navya Nair - Vinayakan starrer ‘Oruthee’ is getting a fabulous response from the audience and director VK Prakash has got much adulation for presenting a story packed with a social message without losing the emotional core.
‘Oruthee’ also features the actors Adithya, Saiju Kurup, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Manu Raj, and Chaali Pala in pivotal roles.
