A journey that began with a dark humour Tamil entertainer named Odu Raja Odu, which was released last year, has now reached Bollywood and beyond through the movie Rocketry — The Nambi Effect. It is the biopic of ex ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, and is directed by R Madhavan, starring Madhavan himself and Simran in the lead.
Vijay Moolan handles the Middle East operations of the Varghese Moolan Group of Companies owned by his father. Vijay believes he has inherited the passion for art from his family. He was waiting for a good team and project to venture into the entertainment industry.
Vijay describes his vision for Vijay Moolan Talkies, which is producing the Bollywood project, as very ambitious. The western educated entrepreneur believes in experimentation and breaking paths. Odu Raja Odu was released internationally in August 2018. The current big budget dream project Rocketry, co-produced with Tricolour Films and Varghese Moolan Pictures, is wrapped up and is expected to release in 2019 itself.
His upcoming projects, which include south Indian feature films and a web series, are in the scripting stages.
