On July 4, Vidhu Vincent, in a public social media post wrote that she is cutting ties with

Women in Cinema Collective

. Two days later, she also posted her resignation letter to the organisation.

In it, she alleged that the organisation has double standards on working with people who are directly or indirectly associated with the actor involved in the actress assault case. She also explained her struggles to find a producer for her movie, Stand Up. She wrote that she is disappointed that the collective sought her explanation on Anto Joseph and B Unnikrishnan producing her movie.

Vidhu tells us, "My post is self-explanatory. I have written everything I wanted to say. I have nothing to add or remove. I stand by what I wrote. Personal is political. Isn't it what we feminists believe and practice?"
