‘Manjummel Boys’ actor Vijaya Muthu: I have begged for good roles

Vijaya Muthu, currently receiving acclaim for his role in the Malayalam film 'Manjummel Boys,' opened up about his emotional journey in the film industry. The veteran Tamil actor, who has faced decades of struggle, teared up discussing the appreciation he garnered for his performance.

During the emotional interview with Cine Ulagam, Vijaya Muthu shared heartfelt moments, expressing gratitude for the recognition coming his way. His journey in the film industry began at the age of 12, and he spoke passionately about the challenges and sacrifices he made throughout his career.

Vijaya Muthu revealed the difficulties he encountered in securing substantial roles, stating, "There isn't a director I have asked for good roles. I have worked with everyone and I have begged for good roles. But I didn't get any." He expressed deep appreciation for a Malayali director who offered him a significant role in 'Manjummel Boys,' thanking the Malayali filmmakers and the Tamil audience for their support.

Money was never the primary focus of his struggle, Vijaya Muthu asserted. He emphasized that, at the end of his life, he wants to be remembered for his acting achievements, regardless of financial success. The actor shared his aspirations and dreams, revealing that it took 32 years to reach the place he is now in his career.
