Veteran cinematographer, M. J. Radhakrishnan passed away at the age of 61. As per sources, he was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram today evening, following a cardiac arrest.
Recipient of seven Kerala State awards for best cinematography, M. J. Radhakrishnan has about 70 movies and documentaries to his credit. Radhakrishnan's last film was 'Veyil Marangal' (Trees Under the Sun), which had won several awards in Shanghai.

J. Radhakrishnan entered the industry as an assistant to filmmaker Shaji N. Karun and his first work was 'Nakhakshathangal'. His first independent film came in 1986 which was titled 'Ammaanamkili' but the movie didn't turn up well. Later, he worked for 'Maamalakalkkapurathu.'
M. J. Radhakrishnan's notable works include, 'Kaliyattam', 'Desadanam', 'Karunam', 'Pulijanmam', 'Naalu Pennungal', 'Gulmohar', and many others. He made his entry into Bollywood with 'Ek Alag Mausam'.
