Anand Menen’s directorial comedy-drama movie ‘Vaazha’ has started streaming on the OTT platform.
For those who have missed the theatrical experience of this comedy entertainer, the movie is now available on Disney Plus Hotstar in the original Malayalam language along with Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu.
Scripted by the ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’ fame Vipin Das, ‘Vaazha’ tells the story of Moosa, Vishnu, and Ajo along with their friends, who are termed as ‘Loosers’ by society and the movie shares the theme of self-discovery and acceptance, wrapped with a good amount of humor. Ankit Menon composed the music for the film, whereas the songs were composed by Rajat Prakash, Electronic Kili, Nomadic Voice, Parvatish Pradeep, Rakz Radiant, and Jay Stellar. The action choreography was handled by Kalai Kingson.
Hitting the big screens on August 15, 2024, ‘Vaazha’ received much appreciation from the audiences and was a surprise hit for the year. On day 1, the movie started on a high note with Rs 1.4 crores at the KBO, followed by Rs 10. 85 crores, Rs 7.4 crores, and Rs 3.25 crores, on weeks 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The overall 27 days KBO collections for this fun entertainer, as reported by the Sacnilk website, stood at Rs 22.7 crores, which is impressive, considering the low budget of the film. The worldwide collections for the film stood at Rs 36.5 crores.
Seeing the success of the first part, the makers have also announced a sequel to the movie. Vipin Das announced ‘Vaazha 2’ via his social media handles.
The movie featured the actors Jagadish, Azees Nedumangad, Jomon Jyothir, Siju Sunny, Saafboi, Ziya Vincent, Sminu Sijo, and many others in pivotal roles.
