‘Vaazha’ box office collections day 12: Comedy-drama shines with Rs 16.35 crore in Kerala

Amidst a challenging period for the Malayalam film industry, where several recent releases have struggled at the box office and ongoing controversies, Anand Menen's comedy-drama ‘Vaazha’ continues to be a bright spot. The film, which has managed to sustain good momentum, has now collected Rs 16.35 crores in 12 days from the Kerala box office alone.


According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Vaazha’ has been a standout performer, with the film maintaining a solid collection of Rs 1.05 crores on day 12. The movie's impressive box office run is reflected in its India net collection of Rs 16.35 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 25.5 crore. The film has also done well overseas, contributing Rs 6.5 crores to the total tally, while the India gross collection stands at Rs 19 crore.

‘Vaazha – Biopic of a Billion Boys’, directed by Anand Menen and written by Vipin Das, is a coming-of-age comedy-drama that explores the lives of five friends, often dismissed by society as "losers." The film delves into their personal struggles, friendships, and the challenges they face as they transition into adulthood. It also touches on their relationships with their parents and their journey toward finding identity and purpose.

The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Jagadish, Kottayam Nazeer, Azees Nedumangad, Siju Sunny, Amith Mohan, Rajeswari, Joemon Jyothir, Anuraj OB, and Saaf Boi.

While other films like Bhavana's ‘Hunt’, Manju Warrier's ‘Footage’, and VK Prakash's ‘Paalum Pazhavum’ have struggled to make an impact, ‘Vaazha’ has emerged as a significant success.
