'Urumi': Shanker Ramakrishnan walks down the memory lane as the film clocks eight years

Filmmaker Shanker Ramakrishnan recollects working on Santhosh Sivan directorial 'Urumi,' for which he has penned the screenplay as the film marks the eighth year of its release. The filmmaker also expressed his gratitude towards the producers and director Santhosh Sivan for giving him the opportunity to be part of the movie.
Taking to his Facebook page, he shared a poster of the film and captioned it as, "Thanks to the passion and spirit of the producers Shri.Shaji Nadeshan, Prithviraj & Santosh Sivan for giving me a golden pen to write this film with my blood.” The filmmaker also credited family and wife for supporting him in his bid to achieve perfection in his work.

Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan directorial 'Urumi' is one of the best period dramas of Malayalam. The movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer movie spoke of the Chirakkal Kelu, his revenge story. The movie was set in 16th century. Actors Prabhu Deva, Genelia D'Souza, Amol Gupte, Jagathy Sreekumar, Nithya Menon, and Alexx O'Nell play the lead roles while it also features Tabu, Arya and Vidya Balan. The movie has won several awards including State awards and International film awards.
Shanker Ramakrishnan is currently busy with his upcoming project, 'Pathinettam Padi.' He recently stunned the audience with the first look of the superstar Mammootty from the film.
