The ‘Get Set Baby’ actor Unni Mukundan recently opened up on his stance on his no-kissing, no-intimate-scene policy.
Talking to On Manorama, the ‘Marco’ actor opened up about his boundaries when it comes to on-screen intimacy. "I have a no-kissing, no-intimate-scene rule that I follow in all my films. I want my movies to be appealing to all kinds of audiences," he stated. He also revealed that he has faced pressure from directors and industry peers to include intimate moments."Some people point out that my peers have done similar roles and scenes, but I believe there are different ways to depict intimacy between couples. A kiss doesn’t have to be the only way to convey it," he explained.
Drawing a comparison to action sequences, he said, "In action films, you create the illusion of hitting someone without actually making contact. The same approach can be applied to romantic scenes as well." He emphasized that while he avoids such scenes, he has no issues with his colleagues doing them. “I have created this bubble for myself, hoping to make my films watchable for family audiences,” he added.
Unni Mukundan also spoke about his career journey, recalling a lean phase after 2014 when he was pushed into side roles or villain characters. Determined to change that, he launched his production house, Unni Mukundan Films, in 2018, with a mission to create five strong family-oriented films. “My goal was to invest in films that connected with my emotions and values,” he said.
Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan’s comedy-drama film has hit the big screens on this day, February 21. The film has Nikhila Vimal in the lead and is directed by Vinay Govind. The music of this drama movie is composed by Sam CS, and the expectations are quite high.
